Group Support
Psychosocial group program – This is a specific 6-week program which has been developed from many years of experience within the mental health sector. The program has been developed to promote a person’s mental, physical, and social wellness.
The program is completed every Tuesday over 6 weeks (10am to 1pm), education in provided which addresses the core concepts of healthy living and personal development, each week alternates between a physical activity (Yoga and Aquamoves), each group session ends with a group lunch together.
Ongoing social group – Once a participant has completed the 6-week Psychosocial Group Program, they are offered the option to join our ongoing social group program which runs every Friday (10am to 1pm). The social group will consist of regular education and activities that are varied each week, items will be supported but led by the group. Items conducted in group can range from; education on specific health topics, sharing stories & strategies, activities such as; art, yoga and/or bowling, just to name a few. Sessions will conclude with a group cook up and lunch, participants will learn to cook something new each week, all skills learnt in sessions will be transferable to daily life for the participant.
(3 month, 6 month and 12 month options available to join program)
All group expenses are covered for the participant under their program fee.
Respite Support
Participants and families who may be struggling in their current environments are offered the chance for a short break, respite provides the participant to experience something new and different in a supported environment. Our respite service has been developed to assist the participant in their personal development and growth. Participants are taken away for a long weekend (Friday to Monday) to aid in goals they have highlighted over this time, examples can be; experience something different with support, learn a new skill and/or routine, achieve a particular goal, or give family members a break from care giving duties, all while being supported by a trained mental health nurse. As part of GV MindBodyFit, we also view respite as an opportunity to complete comprehensive mental health/functional assessments for the participant, when out of their normal environment and comfort zone.
Respite locations include; Torquay, Rye, Philip Island, Bright, Numurkah, and Melbourne. Camping options are also available out bush and alpine regions.
Respite /STA support can only be offered to participants who have been connect with GV MindBodyFit through one-to-one and/or group programs.
One-to-One Support
Individual support is able to be offered to participants as part of their ongoing recovery, all one-to-one supports are as per; Mental Health and Medicinal Cannabis Clinic items. Follow links for further details.
