ABOUT KEVIN SINGH

Mental Health / Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Wellbeing has become a very loosely used word in recent time, however we are glad to say that our service is supported by a true clinical nurse practitioner who has been formally trained in the psychological and physical aspect of health and wellbeing.

Kevin Singh has over 15 years of senior clinical experience within the Mental Health and Primary Care sector, he has worked across both metropolitan and regional health services to provide top quality care. Kevin has extensive experience working across all 3 tiers of health service provision, this includes Primary-level healthcare (supporting the general community who present with health-related needs), Secondary-level healthcare (providing health professionals with education and advice on how to support their patients), as well as Tertiary-level healthcare (supporting patients in hospital settings who may be acutely unwell and/or experiencing a health crisis).

Kevin Singh has experience in supporting patients from many different backgrounds and ages, he has completed numerous specialty training, held specialty portfolios and senior roles during his time working as a senior practitioner.

Kevin Singh has worked in the private sector within the Goulburn Valley region for approx. 4+ years, while still supporting local health, educational institutes and sporting clubs locally. His goal is to listen and understand your unique story, as to provide the right support needed to help every person thrive.

Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge, empathy and life experience to every person he works with.

It involves structured and semi-structured activities that allow trained clinicians to observe and assess behaviours relevant to autism diagnosis.

• Developmental Psychiatry Course (DPC) – The DPC provides a comprehensive method of assessing and managing complex child and adolescent mental health issues, focusing on development and psychiatric aspects. It incorporates a four-part complex child/family assessment approach, including clinical history, developmental monitoring, family dynamics, and environment factors to inform personalised treatment strategies.

• Solution-Focused & Single Session Therapy – Solution-focused therapy is a brief, goal-oriented approach that emphasizes identifying and building on a client’s strengths and solutions rather than focusing on problems. Single session therapy is a streamlined therapeutic model designed to address clients’ immediate concerns effectively within just one session, encouraging quick insight and action.

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – CBT is a structured, goal-orientated psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns, and beliefs to change maladaptive behaviours, and emotional responses. It is commonly used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression and stress.

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – ACT is a form of psychotherapy that encourages individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty about them, promoting psychological flexibility. It emphasises committed actions aligned with personal values to improve wellbeing and cope more effectively with life’s challenges.

• Lego Therapy – Lego therapy is a structured social skills intervention that uses Lego building activities to promote communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills among children, especially those with autism or social challenges.
